MANOWAR Fans Interviewed At MAGIC CIRCLE FESTIVAL; Video Available
July 21, 2008A series of fan interviews conducted hours after the first MANOWAR show at this year's Magic Circle Festival — which took place July 9-12 in Bad Arolsen, Germany — can be viewed at this location. A couple of the clips are available below.
MANOWAR headlined the Friday and Saturday nights of the festival, performing their first six albums back to back. The highlight of their performance was the 20th anniversary of the "Kings of Metal" album with the men's choir. In addition, the band gave away 20,000 copies of "Die With Honor" to those in attendance (in addition to 20,000 free beers and the giving away of four custom built choppers owned by the band).
Thousands of fans thrilled to the chance to have an autograph with all members of MANOWAR, and due to overwhelming demand, the band signed non-stop for 12 hours over a two-day period. They were not able to complete all the autograph requests, and next year they will be adding an extra day of autographs to make every fan happy.
MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio revealed long-awaited details about a secret project. He announced that next year MANOWAR would perform its new (as-yet-untitled and unreleased) album onstage. And it is not just a normal album... it will be written in collaboration with the biggest-selling German author Wolfgang Hohlbein (over 35 million books sold),and will include a tie-in novel and feature film and video game. When Wolfgang appeared onstage during MANOWAR's Saturday performance, he was joined by his manager Dieter Winkler and close friend Ralf Buxa.
